Auster

The realisation that there are Auster enthusiasts out there prompts me to write with this question:

In about 1973 I had my first flight from Shoreham. It was an Auster, possibly grey/silver, and I think it was the only one of its type used for pleasure flights from the airfield at that time. it really put the aviation hook in me and I’m pleased I first went aloft in a historic. Might anyone know which one it was?

As this is an Auster thread, why do you like it so much? I might find out a little more about it from its afficionados.
