British aircraft production totals: Supermarine Spitfire- Boulton Paul Sidestrand

Hi all,
Here’s our list of the production totals of British aircraft. We’re happy to amend this list it if you can provide more accurate, verifiable, figures (contact details are given on the blog). We’d be particularly keen to get an accurate Vickers Vimy total. On contacting BAE Systems, we were told 4500! We imagine an extra zero must have been added here?

I was very surprised by the fourth most produced Brit jet, any ideas? Guess before you look, No peeking!

Very interesting list. I think your Hawker Tempest total is inflated, although I don’t know what criteria you applied to rebuilt aircraft.

All the TT.5s (81) were refurbished and modified airframes from existing RAF stocks. All the 313 Tempest IIs supplied to India and Pakistan were either direct from RAF stocks (by my reckoning 200) or ex -RAF aircraft refurbished (113) and sold to those countries.

So the total of original airframes built looks like 1399 to me.
