Yup even the Cessna 152 or Piper single series would use it, the 152 would also wear like that. I don’t bother turning tyres Stan, the labour for an hour tends to equate to nearly the cost of a new tyre.

Funny you should say about the cessna,at the air field where i found the tyre there used to be one used for parachute drops but as the airfield was used by the raf and Canadian airforces i thought the tyre was older than it appears to be. Thanks Alan

Sounds like the mainwheel from a Cessna 172. Due to the spring steel leg they tend to cant in at the bottom and always hit the tarmac on the outer edge. We always “turn ” the tyre inside to outside at about half life to even up the wear pattern.Tigers, Austers, Taylorcraft i.e. anything with an outward swinging leg has the same problem.

Just had a look and got some details.6ply rating,max load 1750lbs and max speed 120mph.It is heavily worn on one edge as if something was out of line.

Yup most light stuff use 600 by 6, what ply rating is it? Light stuff tends to be around 4ply but normally about 6 ply.
