Typical, Where was the waste and environmental management? What a joke! 😡
All the Sh1t that we have to adhere to here and the non-uk europeans under ‘stringent’ EU directives, just smash it to bits and let whatever is in it come out and spill everywhere.
It really does cheese me off. 😡
If anyone did that so publicly here in the UK, they would be for the high jump, but not onto a crash mat.

I really don’t see what the problem is. That was a very small amount of fuel that leaked out and it was cleaned up. The rest of the aircraft is going off for recycling, what’s the problem?

Sycamore Aviation, Durham Tees Valley.

Exactly… And we all know there are a lotmore aircraft breakers around the country than Sycamore Aviation….

So those who talk of gold plating the rules etc (sorry to single you out Peter) are very much misinformed.

Mmm, if we’re going to start talking about waste management, which of the UK companies that are actively involved in breaking aircraft have a waste management license / environmental permit to do it?

The SC9 Canberra at RAF St Mawgan kept bursting into flames when they cut it up. Luckily the fire section was only a few yards away.

Sad to see as many of us at St Mawgan managed to get flights in the Atlantics.

You must realise that we all abide by the same EU rules. Our problem is that our wonderful civil servants (sic), to justify their massive salaries and platinum plated pensions, have to thoroughly gold plate these rules. It does stretch their days, saving them from the chop. Our dozy politicos have the wool pulled over their eyes both by Brussels and Whitehall.

O)dd they didn’t remove anything…engines, prope etc before the chop.

And Bomberboy is correct, enviromentally it’s a bit of a joke. Hardly green.

Sickening to watch, looks like a praying mantis devouring its prey. 😮
