My Nana’s brother was on this mission and on HR732 (MH-Y) I put together a booklet on the mission and where the known planes crashed etc. Happy to send you a copy of it. (If you pick this up). I also spoke to someone who did some research for the pilots wife. Story goes his body was found has the wife after the war got a ring to ID. The time she replied they lost the body. (Not a surprise given the events at the time mainly due to Russian taking control of the likely crash site. Also at the time of my research early 2000s. I managed to an address of a Canadian aircrew member whos plane crashed later on the mission. He didn’t reply at the time but via a relation he didn’t know where he had crashed until I informed him in a letter. I forget the particulars how my relation is of the impression that crew member gave the impression that HR732 exploded over the target area.
