Taken from the BBMF guestbook page in it’s entirety:
Please remember my Uncle rear gunner Sgt Johnny Tanney of the last Lanacster to return from Nuremberg who baled out from the aircraft and broke his back on landing. He passed away on Monday 14th May 2012. One of the few. You have more than earned the peace you now enjoy.

My pleasure Moggy.
As we all know, the tail end Charlie is a position that nobody would have wanted, so to survive, and live this long, well……
Respect Sir.

Thank you for bringing that to our attention.
He richly deserves to have his passing marked.
