Not sure how recent this is but;

Yes!! Much like the Finnish museums’ other British sole survivors like the Martynside Buzzard and lovely original Blenheim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bristol_Blenheim_Mk_IV_%28BL-200%29.jpg)!
As for the more specific angle of keeping some ‘finds’ as they are, absolutely, such as the RAFM Halifax, and hopefully the Sahara P-40.

Howvever, the American mindset is slightly different. They love to plaster stars-and-bars on everything in sight. Jet Provosts, L-39s, Fouga Magisters, F4U-7s, Navions, even the airport cat! 🙂

To be fair, the fear was that the Naval Air Museum would restore it and paint it as a USN Bird. That it hasnt so far happened is to their credit.

The video referenced above shows it on display in Finland. It looks like it does in the photo posted by Scouse.
Wiki says it’s been owned by the US Naval Museum since 2004…so it’s still in “as found shape”.
