A.G.S Aircraft General Standard

Hello,

Can anyone tell me whether the A.G.S stamp on an aircraft part is exclusively a British thing?

I’m researching a WW2 crash site in which the bulk of the aircraft (possibly a Hudson) was taken away.

Presumably there would also be British parts on board after it’s refit upon arrival from the US?
