Skylark Aircraft – HS748

Morning all, been meaning to put these up since I poped down to collect the HS125 panels from Jamie in Southend. I had a few minutes to spare, so with permission from hotel, I took these pics . .

The Bonanza suffered an partial undercarriage collapse in 2005 when selected by mistake for the flaps, I suspect the storage or parking fees have acrued since then.
Its a pity as the aircraft was built in 1951.

According to Flypast, our sponsor, the Bonanza is being stored on behalf of the owner and is not intended to be any part of the hotel display.

The Bonanza at least would make a nice little museum exhibit for somewhere.

The Skylark Hotel bought the HS748s intending to make at least one of them into a wedding venue. I had no idea that they were that bad as access is difficult but sadly it looks like it will be a massive job to make either of them presentable again.
I believe the Bonanza came as part of the same lot. I think the story was that it had been impounded due to unpaid parking fees

There are in fact two ex RAAF machines – note one has a 3 and the other a 6 above the cockpit windows.
Shame to see them is such a state, and the V-tail Bonanza too, but they are the owners responsibility no one else’s at the end of the day. 🙁
