WW2 desert fighter pilot Peter Metelerkamp

I met up with Peter’s son, Chris Metelerkamp and he gave me his dad’s war photograph album, log book and scrap book to copy. Discovered a treasure of unpublished photographs and decided to put up everything on a web site:

Peter Metelerkamp was a pilot with SAAF No. 1 squadron and flew mainly Hurricanes and Spitfire Mk V’s. He became OC only to be killed in Dec 1942 when Chris was a couple of months old.
