Mystery object

Another mystery item for you guys to rack your brains over. This is a wooden box with a sliding hatch at the front and ventilation holes on the side and top/base (depending on which way up it goes).

This does seem reminiscent of a radio rack, but I’ve never seen one made of wood. Even with ventilation holes, it would seem a bit of a fire hazard! It does seem quite crude, so may be something to do with ground equipment rather than aircraft.
