Dear Ian, Paul , etc ,
regarding N5588 / N5690
I went to the site with Mr Ken Hodges way back in the 80s, when I was a young lad .
I remember the site, very little there, some bits of engine casing, mainly blown .303” ,and the odd bit of skinning, very concentrated in a small area.
A witness who saw the crash living in Shepperdine said
“after the aircraft collided , the two of them were locked together , coming down like sort of like a sycamore seed falling from a tree .
we did wonder if infact they had hit the earth together , or broke apart at the last minute .
I still have a few bits and bobs , but very little
I do miss the old groups , SWARG and SAS , probably one of the best most interesting times of my life
