I bought a P40 panel from here last month and the star on it was in acrylics as well as being on an underwing panel between the wheel bay and centre line.

Definitely P40   but not original paint.

I am not convinced this is not from  the same source. The stringers dont look like 109; the primer looks British and there is no place on the 109 where there is an external cross brace.
