Mosquito – Triangular wing, elliptical tail

I was looking at a photo of a Mosquito the other day and after 50-odd years it struck me that the wing is essentially triangular, all straight lines, while the tailplane assembly is all elliptical curves. It’s almost as if the two parts belonged to different aircraft. And curved structures tend to be a lot more difficult to build than straight ones (viz. build time for Me 109 compared with Spitfire)

Anyone know why the wing and tail of a Mosquito are so different?
