I’ve been to India a few times and the only aeroplane I’ve seen outside the airport was a Sea Hawk on a stick at Thiruvanantapuram.

That said, if you don’t mind no aeroplanes, or model shops, India is a good place to retire to.. The peole are very friendly and you can live like a king on a UK state pension. It helps of you can learn a bit of the local language but it’s not necessary
