I think I might be in a minority here but I have always thought the ISS scheme looks really nice.

Hi All, as both Furies are marked as ‘115’ it would be great if one of the owners changed the markings to ‘114’ and they flew as a two ship aerobatic team, this was originally how two Furies were painted up during service with the RAN. I last saw the Aussie 115 in Jan at Wangaratta & I don’t think it had flown in a while, cheers, Pete

Weren’t the Dutch markings applied for some appearances appropriately in Holland?

The ex OFMC Fury was actually in that colour scheme when they originally purchased, never understood why they changed the Aussie roundals to Dutch 1’s as soon as it arrived here. The blue on the French is incorrect, originally it was midnight blue.

OK guys, for the “thick” one amongst us, what’s the identity of this one?
By: suthg - 20th July 2013 at 10:49
The engine looks more like a Hercules than a Centaurus (going by the heads) but there are definitely 9 cylinders per row… at 53.6L she was a big engine! Compared with 27L for the RR Merlin and 36.7L for the RR Griffon, 46L for the P&W Double Wasp R2800 and 71.5L for the P&W R4360. Great to see another one running!

Different Fury. The ex-OFMC one is painted in an identical scheme, even down to the serial number (WH589) to Christophe Jacquard’s example that was at Duxford last weekend. An interesting conundrum, as they are both destined to be French-based.
Any idea why they would both be given the same scheme and ID?
