Just bought this part from a local who said he recovered it from the wreck of a JU 88 which crashed on Porlock beach on the 27th September 1940. Not being familiar with German numbers can anyone confirm or controdict this aircraft type from the plate in the picture ? thanks in advance. 🙂

Most likely a Compass holder.

i am intending on placing a memorial marker stone on the grave of a man who died in the crash.
