Has a book on Kingman ever been done?
Not sure a book specific on Kingman was ever written, but William Larkins published this one which has a lot of photos and info about Kingman and other early post war US military aicrafts “recycle” depots. A really interesting reading.

I have such mixed feeling seeing these sort of images.
Looking at century + aircraft quietly awaiting an undignified end all but makes me weep.
But each aircraft in those shots carried ten men safely back to their families, so we really should be grateful, not sad.

Also, the B-17G “Five Grand” seen at 0:44 was the 5000th made by Boeing in Seattle and was supposed to be preserved in that city. For some reason it wasn’t. Too bad, with all the signatures of the people who made it, it would have been a unique part of the city’s history.
