Mid-afternoon Friday, a chunk of aeroplane under a tarpaulin and lashed to the back of a Transit truck on the A562 heading towards Liverpool. The bits that weren’t covered up were in red and white…Jet Provost cockpit perhaps?
Someone satisfy my curiosity, please!

Hi there, Dave 853, welcome to the Forum.
Myself and several other Forumites are deeply involved in several aviation projects in the general Liverpool area so we hope to see you around some time.
Have you considered taking your new acquisition to Cockpit Fest before you start to convert it to a sim, or is work already under way?
Anon.
Work is already underway, however my plan is to keep as much as possible original and what i do change will be done so i can revert back to just the original cockpit. I am involved in other projects in Liverpool, and will be there on Sat.

You did indeed see the Jet Provost being delivered. I am the new owner of this cockpit. It is XN597, from Millom. I am currently working to convert her to a flight sim, while trying to keep as much as possible of the original plane.

XN597 on the move.
Yes it was JP3 XN597 on its way to its new owner.

Having asked around, it was indeed a JP cockpit which is taking up residence in the area. I believe it is the ex Millom one.

Red – a flat back truck rather than a van. I think I gave the driver an anxious moment…I was on my motorbike and slowed down get a good look, the driver slowed down probably because he thought I was an undercover policeman, I slowed down a bit more to get a look and we ended up in convoy at 50 on a road where most folk do 75:diablo:

Daft question – what colour was the Transit van? 🙂
