I normally steer clear of WWII military subjects, as there are already a superfluity of postings on such subjects. However, researching on a non-aviation related topic, I’ve come across an interesting tale….
Apparently, in the dying days of the war in 1945, the Germans were using a pair of MkI Lysanders, with an extra seat fitted in the rear and in full German camouflage and markings, to ferry cloak & dagger bods in and out of Berlin Templehof. These were not exactly local hops, as bods were being brought from, and taken back to near the Swiss border.
So the questions are as follows;-
1) These a/c were reputed to have been captured at Dunkirk. Is this true..?
2) What were their identities…?
3) Does anyone know their ultimate fate…?
Over to the ‘A-Team’……!
