Phantom ADI

Quite a few years ago ISTR an Air Clues report on an RAF Phantom Attitude Director Indicator which had been marked incorrectly with at least one cardinal heading marked out of sync with the heading graduations. Something like the mocked up examples below. Can anybody shed any light on this and/or have a copy of the Air Clues article, please?
