This Hurricane was shot down 11th July 1940, Cranmore, Isle of Wight, whilst attacking a HeIII. A bullet set the gravity tank alight and the pilot Sgt A.W. Woolley baled out.
It was a 601 Squadron machine and had scrambled from RAF Tangmere.
The Squadron fuselage code was UF and its the individual letter was ??
