Ident for these…

Found buried on an old airfield recently, two sizes, different degree of bend on the prongs that are rounded off at the tips. All solid steel.

If there are screw threads on the straight bits they look like the securing clamp screws off quad Oxy/Nitrogen trollies.

They dont appear to have been threaded Anon.
We now have found eight of these at the back of the site of a dispersal with AM marked bits and pieces at the same depth.

Rusty bits

They look like steadies of some sort – either aeronautical or agricultural.

Is the stem threaded?

Anon.

Have you or do you intend to clean one up? This might through up some indentification numbers/makers name etc.

Brian.

Hello Brian, long time no talk!
They are really heavily rusted and I doubt any markings will be evident. However, we will try.

Thanks so far all..

Hi Denis.

Happy New Year to you.

Have you or do you intend to clean one up? This might through up some indentification numbers/makers name etc.

My first thought was the same as Texantomcat’s, something to do with the hanging of bomb’s but as this has been ruled out it might not have anything what so ever to do with aircraft at all.

Could they be steadying feet for something that stands on the floor like screens or radiators or maybe iron work from an open fire?

Brian.
