Trying to find a photo of 617 sqd Intelligence officer Tommy Lloyd and found this in a auction catalogue. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is he, sitting with jacket undone? Would there have been more then one IO at 617 at any one time?

In Jonathan Falconer’s book “The Dam Busters” page 175 and published in 2003, the caption to this photo refers to him as S/L Townson, 617 Intelligence Officer. So if this is correct, the answer to your question is no. (Having seen this photo many times, I hadn’t realised or noticed that Gibson is sat in the middle on the right (behind Trevor-Roper))

His medals were sold in auction some years back now, and this is the photo that came with them, I have also seen this image in the IWM photo library listed as IO 617 Squadron but not named as LLoyd.
