Does anyone have or point me in the right direction to get comprehensive histories of these two Nimrod,s.
I know there was a great book out in 1986 which gave histories of each aircraft up to 1985 but I cant find a copy for sale and I cant get a download from the web it was by John Chartres and called
BAe Nimrod (Modern Combat Aircraft 24).
Shepperton, Surrey, UK: Ian Allan, 1986. ISBN 0-7110-1575-9
If anyone can scan the histories of each aircraft from it for me I would be very thankful
TIA

I have just thought that there are a number of guys well versed in Nimrods on the forum and the aircraft at Elvington has a detailed support group of guys experienced and knowledgeable on many of the breed. Their machine is XV250 and they have a very active facebook page.
Hope this helps

I can remember XV240 going down the production line and out the door but dont ask me the date as I cant for the life of me remember.I can also remember us having the first proto AEW conversion on the line and the flight trials aircraft.

The British Aviation Research Group (BARG) have extensive records of military aviation.
Might be worth posing the question to them

The provided Harrier information to me free, but I did have to wait.
I would say that any small fee would be worth its weight as the movement cards give you the info that you are asking about above, and are the original source.

Thanks guys, I didnt want to go down the RAFM route if someone out here had the info, first it would be much quicker to get it and dont the RAFM now charge you for that info.
I know that the RAF F700 will contain certain information (but it wont contain all the info espescially its early data) , but I think the F700,s for these two aircraft (certainly XV240) will have probably been archived or even destroyed by Eng Records at Kinloss by now.
Thanks for the update on the book, I may have mistaken it for another book then because I,m sure I,ve seen a book with histories of each aircraft.
The sort of data I,m after is a s follows
Delivery dates to the RAF
Transfer between units
Conversion to MR2
Any help is much appreciated

Have you tried the RAFMuseum for the movements cards of these airframes?
I also wonder if the log books still exist somewhere aswel, RAFM & AHB being the places to try.

I have a copy of the above mentioned book, and I’m sorry to say it does not contain individual histories of each Aircraft.
As I worked on Nimrods (as an armourer ) for over 7 years, please let me know if I can be of any further help.
