Men and their Sheds

Nice one Rocketeer – I was listening in the garage as I built up the Jeep’s lights

It would be nice to do….I have never been to the helio museum….amazing really, the closest I got was when we took a Puma into WIPL a few years back!

Be nice to see this work, doubt I will have the cockpit ready, but certainly panels etc.

I’d certainly drag some bits over the water, it would be a good excuse to get things finished.

I think it would be a good venue. It would be better to pick a new name though….There a few chaps around you, who if cajoled could make it great (Ruskin, XF940, Mark Gauntlett et moi and possible related displays from the Welsh boys! Graham too?)

Sounds ominous! Actually the first problem my missus had with the hobby was that I was off to a Cockpitfest!

There didn’t seem to be much impetus put into that though, there has to be a lot of effort put in with organisation and advertising to make it worth towing a cockpit somewhere these days, or the knowledge that the event will properly cater for it.
Not an easy task at a guess, and by T/O’s constant plugging!:D

Nicely done Tony, just listened in. Cockpitfest South at the helicopter museum sounded good but didn’t materialise. They have space, advertising and other stuff to see. And closer!

Would be great to have a decent southern cockpit show, not to interfere with Cockpitfest, maybe later in the summer.

Friend of a friend of mine used to produce a pale brown liquid in his Garden Shed. It would take the enamel off your teeth and etch glass away! It’s technical name was ‘Sherry’ but what connection it had ever had with the Iberian Peninsular is difficult to determine!!
Could be used to cleanse cockpit instruments of harmful ticking/glowing dial illuminations?

I don’t know about everyone else but since I’ve been posting on this thread I’ve had some cracking ‘adverts’ come up for sheds and summerhouse https://www.sherwoodsheds.co.uk/ 😀 (I did my bit for forum funds, did you?)

Nice piece Tony.

Came across a lot more calm and collected than I did when I did a radio interview for the BBC and took them around an old WWII airfield! 😀

Its a three hour drive from Andover that’s what. :diablo:

Come on Tony, isn’t it about time we had that forumite drink you’ve talked about in the Boot.

I have this show on in the background at work, but I missed it.
The most surprising thing for me was It’s in Andover. So am I, and I’ve never seen it!

Any chance of changing that Tony, before I’d have to travel to Newark?

Enjoyed the chat, well done.

John

Spokesperson

I hereby nominate Tony Dyer to be the official spokesperson for this wonderful and wierd hobby of ours – Cockpit collecting!

Nice one, Tony. My son Nick also got a laugh out of it when I played the excerpt from the broadcast to him this evening.

Mike.

This must be the first time I’ve missed the Jeremy Vine show, typical!Excellent clear oratory there Tony, good point about personal space and nagging partners!:)
Liking Jeremys reaction to the Spitfire revelation.:D
Missus reckone we’re normal, but the rest of humanity is odd!
