Link trainers/ Simulation

Can anyone kindly help me locate information on link trainers please? Am i right in saying that the basic link trainers had an adjustable air pressure input to provide a feed for the Altimeter and Air Speed Indicator simulation? Or are the instruments mechanically driven?

If anyone has the remains of a link trainer that is surplus to requirements then i’d certainly be interested.

Thanks,

Tim.

The vultures had well picked that D4 corpse before it was born again Dave.

Apart from the wooden fuselage and butchered panel you would be hard pushed to find any original fittings/flight gear in that.

Hi Tim,

Most of Link and Singer units work off suck rather than blow.

Instruments are a combination of vacuum, telemotor or cable drives.

In the case of the ASI for the D4 type from Singer it is a telemotor unit

The Vertical Speed unit is a combination of vacuum/mechanical and electrical circuits.

The attached piccy shows the major systems
Red for Electrical
Yellow for Mechanical
Blue for Vacuum

Ross
