1950's / 1960's Archive Part 36: Liverpool 1964

Presenting a splendid set of holiday snaps, taken by a teenage Duxman at Liverpool Airport on August 12th 1964:

Starting with G-ASTF, a Britannia 314 of British Eagle. Named ‘Concord’ , this aircraft was only on lease from Canadian Pacific for the summer of 1964. It was Wfu at Gatwick in 1969 and broken up the next year:

G-APZB, a Viscount 707 was also only in service with British Eagle for a few months in 1964, and ended its days at Southend in 1970:

G-AOCC, Viscount 755D, saw about 5 years service with British Eagle and was later scrapped at East Midlands in 1969:

Cambrian Viscounts served Liverpool, this is G-AMOG which also carried BEA, BOAC and British Airways colours during its career. This aircraft was preserved at Cosford for 30 years and is now at East Fortune:

G-AMOL was with Cambrian from 1963 until crashing on approach to Speke July 20th 1965:

G-AMON was another early Viscount which ended its career (like G-AMOG) in British Airways colours, providing a feeder service from Edinburgh to BA’s Prestwick transatlantic flights:

Aer Lingus services to Liverpool included Viscount 808 EI-AKO. This aircraft was later converted for cargo service and was Wfu in Zaire as 9Q-CGM by about 1985:

EI-AKA is a notable F.27. First Friendship in service, delivered to Aer Lingus in 1958, she was later ZK-NAH and VH-NLS before returning to The Netherlands for preservation at the Aviodrome, Lelystad:

Two views of arriving Carvair EI-ANJ. Newly in service with Aer Lingus, it became CF-EPW with Eastern Provincial, G-ASKD with BAF, and ended its days as LN-NAA at Bangkok after Red Cross use (sorry about damaged negative):

The only light aircraft photographed was G-ASOM, a newly registered Beagle Terrier still active today at Spanhoe (?):

To conclude, two pictures from the same trip. Taken at Blackpool 10-8-64, they show British United Dakota G-ANAE :
