Hi,
Working on getting some bits boarded up for the museum, one such board which just needs a label are parts from the P-47 that crashed at Leek near Stoke on Trent and dug some years ago. I believe the pilot was killed? and if my memory is correct name of Foster but I could be wrong on the name. I understand a number of .50’s were recovered and de-activated which may jog someones memory. If anyone can share the full incident report I would be most grateful.

Oh dear, wasn’t aware it was at all controversial, I am not even sure who I purchased these items from now, it was a good few years ago now I know that much. Items are mainly cockpit related, no personal effects if that was what you were thinking. Thanks for the info, despite what ever went on in the past with the dig, at least these items can now be displayed in the museum together with the story of the tragic loss of the unfortunate pilot.
Are these the only parts left now then? they must have recovered the engine and props etc?
Thanks very much for the info.
