Some striking images of the wreck on the ocean floor.
”The following images are coming from Greece where (the locality is in the area where the plane diched 57 years ago), a fantastic Savoia Marchetti S.79 bis of Gruppo Buscaglia decided to let us know of its existence.
Considering the structure, the depth and the long immersen it is rather difficult that it could be recovered, but these images are certainly worth a look at an old soldier…
According to the researches made by Ferdinando D’Amico for the UFR Team, the Greek group of professional sea divers who found the plane, the plane should/could be the MM. 22293 coded “B2-09″ of the ANR Torpedo-bomber unit, lost in the night of 4/5 August 1944.”
