I found an identical one today at an autojumble amongst a box of ‘stuff’. It seemed to me to be a drum tap and indeed worked well as one!

I was wondering whether the grease may be a clue, or is the object new and it’s part of the packing. So is it something that works with grease under pressure………

Is that ball on a spring and does the screw on the side lock the main thread? if si it may possibly a pressure relief valve that is adjusted by the big screw preloading the spring, then locked.

I cant see its a tap it would not function as such

Does it come apart, and if so, could you post another picture?

That – I would have thought, in all humility – would have brought tears to the eyes of even the stoutest soul!
The sooner somebody comes up with the real purpose of this imbranglement then the sooner we shall be able to close what is becoming a lewd and suggestive thread. Not, you understand, that I am against those in principle provided they are well, and tastefully, done – and we can get them past the Mods!
