Conservation can take many forms, and we do not know what is happening under that coat of paint.

I’m sure all will become clear!

hi,
sorry for stating Zero when it should have been Ki 100,but i went to Hendon on 23rd June this year, and saw 16336 Ki 100 and it looked quiet reasonable( unless underneath the paint it was crumbleing!).So anyone know why its in the conservation centre? when there are more suitable projects needing attention

Fair enough chaps if that is the general concensus!

A couple from me, the Ki100 on Sunday:

And circa 1989 at St Athan in much the same state before heading to Cosford in much the same state!:

David,

I believe the Bloodhound is just by the entrance to the MBCC, no photo though

Cheers

Well I’ll post these snaps as I don’t intend to make any commercial gain from them.

Wellington landing lights.
Look at the waisting of the spar tubes, the remains of sellotape and the fact that the structure is painted.

Looking up at the Astrodome, one of the few areas where the fabric remians in place.
The Museum was selling a thin booklet on the Wellington along with (smallish) strips of the fabric. I bought the book but not the fabric (Yes I am a tightwad).

The final photo was one I wasn’t expecting – My autograph is somewhere on this print! Now if only the Museum would take the Sedburgh, ‘Mrs Hepple’ (VX275) out of the store at Stafford.
