I have produced a website on little known pioneer aviator Preston Watson in the hope of enlightening those out there who know little about him. There are many rumours about what he did, particularly with regards to the unsubstantiated claims of “powered-flight-before-the-Wrights”, but his actual activities often get overlooked. He built three indigenous aeroplanes betewwn 1909 and 1913 of which only the last two got airborne under their own power. All incorporated an entirely original means of lateral control for an aeroplane.
