What’s a Spitfire or Mustang nowadays? Three, four million?
A PBY would be something different to have, plus you could take all your friends along…and save enough money to buy all the fuel you want.

I’m rather glad it’s priced where it is, it might prevent some idiot from turning it into a bush plane or be I’ll-used in fire fighting.

The Collings Foundation has added a PBY to their stable and another collector with a smaller, but still impressive, collection is said to be adding one.
It’s about time the major warbird collectors and operators looked past fighters and have some recognition of the other types that helped win the war. Now if they could add a few C-47s and C-54s while they’re still around…a save some from being scrapped.
