Has anyone ever seen any photos of the airfield when in use or any of aircraft actually at Sway?(it only lasted about 12 or 13 months).
I believe that there were virtually no facilities there other than (possibly) some kind of shelter for those who guarded the aircraft overnight.When I lived in the area I had a good look at the site several times and there really was nothing to show that it had ever existed there.

Sounds as though they may have needed flash photography but likely that would have been prohibited under the “black out regulations………!!!

Yes – thanks – but it doesn’t have any photos of aircraft at Sway.
I am wondering if any photos actually exist given the very short life of the airstrip and the fact that the aircraft apparently flew in (from Christchurch) just before dusk each evening and left next morning.
