A successful forced landing, with minimal damage.
”A commemorative World War II Japanese Air Force plane crash-landed in a Thatcher cotton field Monday morning after it experienced engine failure.
At about 8:50 a.m., the Graham County Dispatch began receiving calls about an airplane that had crashed into a cotton field between Eighth Street and Highway 70 east of First Avenue in Thatcher. The cotton belongs to Steve Daley of Thatcher.
The pilot, Bill Fier, of Austin, Texas, was not injured in the crash. Fier flies with the Tora group of the Commemorative Air Force, which re-creates the bombing of Pearl Harbor at air shows. He was flying a reproduction of a Japanese Kate B5N3 torpedo bomber owned by the CAF out of Midland, Texas. Fier is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Air Force with 35 years flying experience. While enlisted, Fier flew B-52 and B-1 bombers. ”

According to the report on Wix they had the thing up on it’s wheels & the wings off before sundown. Looks like the engine driven fuel pump crapped out apparently.
