Civilian A-4 in US?

Was shopping about a mile from NAS Oceana this afternoon and saw an A-4 Skyhawk doing its routine for the airshow (been raining for 2 days and they trying very hard to have the show.) I was under the impression that the Navy had ceased flying this type and was wondering if any are in civilian hands?

I’ve always heard that the A-4s were simple, economical (relatively), and nice to fly.
There are still plenty around so perhaps we’ll seee more restored to flight.

Wow what a fantastic formation. Dare i say i would of liked it even more with the FJ-4 Fury leading instead of the Sabre, to keep with the navy theme :).

There is a photo of a civil Skyhawk in October’s FlyPast.

Am I the only one here that reads our sponsor publication? :):D

Looked like the skyhawk ventures. It was light grey and had the two big tanks under her.

Yes there is an airworthy privately owned Vietnam vet A-4C Skyhawk owned/restored by Skyhawk Ventures. So possibly this one!

There have been a few in both civil warbird hands and doing contract work over the years.
