Bumping up this thread due to seeing this type relic at the Kent Battle of Britain museum at Hawkinge last weekend, the museum had an identical hinge that had the same width wood panelling, where mine has the substantial wooden part on one side, there’s showed more of the other side of the hinge itself, which was complete and i would hazard a guess in being around 5 inches in length, so now we know it is 100 per cent from a Hurricane Battle of Britain era.

I cant seem to find its location as yet whilst spending numerous hours on the net along with reference books.

Over to the Hurricane experts for any help please.

Incidentally the K.B.O.B museum has some good new additions to this years display, one being a merlin engine from the Battle of France, original paperwork personal to Sir Keith Park, along with many other personal pilot items, all nicely displayed in the armoury, with Lord Dowding and Sir Keith park on one side over looking there (his chicks pilots) displayed in the centre cabinets in front of them.
Newly displayed in 360 degree all round view cabinets.
well worth a visit.
