Spitfire XIX Seat Armour

Hello all

Quick question if i may,

I’m building the Airfix Spitfire XIX and just want to know, did these actually have the normal Spitfire seat armour? As i was sure the PR variants flew without armour. A web search has revealed no definitive answer so thought i would ask the experts here.

No armour on the seat on this one though, but could have been removed.

Ok excellent, so it does look like armour was fitted then.

Excellent book by the way Mark12, i greatly enjoyed reading it.

Post WWII the Swedes purchased 50 surplus Mk XIX’s.

From the accompanying manuals they were fittd with seat armour thus.
