James D just posted a thread on the recent meeting in Hahnweide. Like him, I prefer to post this one about the meeting in Lausanne (26-28 August 2011) on the Historic forum rather than the photographic. Its aim was to celebrate 100 years of aviation in Lausanne, and, like at Hahnweide, it turned up some interesting vistors. I think it is the only meeting I have been to with no jets! The Friday evening display over Lake Geneva was rained and stormed off, and we were worried about the Saturday, but after drying out it turned into a flyable, but bumpy, day. Sunday was 100% sun day.
I was a “volunteer” and was lucky (?) enough to be posted on security on the presentation strip, which meant some very close proximity to the flyers.
