How is she getting on? Last time i saw her she had just arrived. Not sure why her previous owners sold her but she is in good hands.

The aircraft last flew into Ipswich and was left in a corner for a while, it received some damage in the 87 Hurricane and was later acquired via another DC3 operator by some individuals at Framlingham (Suffolk) who later sold it to the current organisation.

derelict cant remember which air port, rescued by a group in Norfolk (Framlingham?) I would guess they sold it on, as next thing i knew it was at Aeroventure. In really good hands too.

What’s the story on this one? Looks like a lot of damage underneath? And possibly a cockpit door swap from left to right?

will she be restored as a civvie DC3? Thats surely the only one in Europe?
isn’t the DC3 going to be restored as a civilian aircraft in wartime makings – ie camouflaged but with civilian registration in large letters underlined with red/white/blue stripes. There were a lot of DC3s based at Donny during the war
May be some time though as the fuselage skin seemed paper-thin in places

I believe the example at Wroughton is also civilian .

Sadsack, some work has been carried out on the DC3- mainly paint stripping of the fuselage.
What is interesting from this though was the outline of the original Eastern Airlines markings became visible- the aircraft would have been similar to that of the DC3 at the Smithsonian. I haven’t had the chance to go over this year so far so can’t update you further I’m afraid.
Regards Rad.
