Fire Dump images

Just reading the latest Wrecks and Relics book (a fantastic read) and having seen a pic of the Argosy on the dump at Finningley in 1983 and remember seeing it, I wonder if any of you have similar images you’d be willing to share of aircraft that went to the fire dump?

Cheers,
C6

Here’s a Hunter on the dump too. Not sure where or when I took this one!

First time I’ve seen this thread today-strange thing was I’d found 2 Photo’s this morning of Victor ” Saucy Sal” taken when she was on the dump at Brize Norton in 1994.

I’m on my work’s PC at the mo’ but I’ll try to get them scanned asap to put them on this thread.

Martin: No pictures of the Heron on the fire dump, but just a comment.
As we have corresponded, and you know well: there is some confusion between 14072 (XR443) and 14092 (XR445). It seems that 443 was the one which is now in the Al Mahatta Museum in Sharjah, while 445 was broken up at Booker. However, the one at Al Mahatta has “XR445” inside no 1 engine cowling!
I post this in case someone may have some information.

I must get round to finding the slide box and scan the slide. It looks a bit better in colour tham black & white.

I believe that the above mentioned Argosy is XN819; the cockpit from which survives in the end of the Small Objects Building at Newark Air Museum as a procedures trainer. 🙂
