Folks,
I thought I had seen it all. But I have not a clue about this French bomber at the bottom of page 67. When I first saw the photo and before I read the caption, I would have sworn it was Russian!!!!

It’s well worth reading the whole of Hiram Maxim’s article in that book. His description of the “next war in the air” is soberingly prescient…
He predicts strategic bombing, the realities of fighter combat, the V-1, and even innovations like heat-seeking missiles that didn’t come into action until decades later.

Thank Your
Folks,
Thanks for the answers. But what is it with the French. All through most of the 1930s they built some of the most b*tt ugly aircraft in history, and then in the late 1930s they started building some of the most beautiful???

I’d be a little reluctant to tap the target for the blind pistol shooter on Page 80 – I hope they checked his hearing. All the shooters I know are hearing challenged 😀

Seems to use the Burnelli ‘lifting fuselage’ concept.
Surprising how much the camera angle can exaggerate the overall look and create an impression of size.

Not sure exactly but pixs I have show slightly different nose and engine cowlings.
Could be Dyle et Bacalan AB.20, Bordelaise AB.21
