BlueNoser pays a tribute to Maj Geortge E Preddy Jr…who on this day…Aug 6th 1944 flying escorts missions over The Reich with the 352nd Fighter group, shot down Six Me-109’s on this day . Long live his memory and those he fllew with. If any of you happen to drive by the old airfield at Bodney..take a moment to remember and offer up a salute from BlueNoser352 to the men of The 352nd Fighter Group…………… “SECOND TO NONE”

Thanks for posting that link to the photos
Alan:
Much thanks for posting a link to those photos ..I’ve been to Bodney several times over the years and at one time I was hoping the 352 veterans group had expressed some interest in trying to restore the flying control tower at Bondey. An expensive venture…sad to see it in the condition it is today ! So many powerful events took place there in helping to shape world history as we know it today .
All Hail the 352nd FG!!!!

One of my favorite 352nd photos below ….BlueNose Mustangs cool down after another day of making life most difficult for the Luftwaffe .. a shepard watches over his flock !!!

Some fantastic old photos on that link, I really enjoyed my ‘Bluenoser’ education last year reading ‘Bluenoser Tales’, ‘The Bluenosed *******s of Bodney’ and ‘George Preddy- Mustang Ace’ and included a visit to Bodney tower and the old 487th FS dispersal.
I had trouble locating a copy of ‘Bluenoser Tales’ until ‘Punchy’ Powell pointed me in the right direction!

Driven by there many a time, as my parents live nearby at Watton.
I have a picture of the memorial somewhere, I shall have to dig it out.

It’s amazing how tired Preddy looks in those August 6th photos. Far more representative of the life of a combat pilot then the posed shots we so often see.
