You may remember a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to post a collection of photos from an airshow at Coltishall from 1969 / 70 ! well along with that collection came these few from, as marked on the slide, Manston Drome, no date or other info ! as they were with the former collection I assume the same era ???? unless of course you know otherwise ????? please enjoy !

My memory could be playing tricks but when I last saw the Canberra and Javelin I seem remember them being displayed near some houses in a turning off the main road. I am fairly sure that the same road also gave views across parts of the fire school. I presume that they were later moved for display outside the Spitfire building before succumbing to the scrappie at Hanningfield Metals.

kev35 Yes, my friend, I looked at those helos ….. my thoughts were Gazelles (sp) does that tie in with the dates proposed ?? …. thank you !

Nice pics….. all I can find via google is that the Spitfire Memorial Building was opened on 13th June 1981 so sometime after that date….
And that poor Javelin got scrapped in 1990.
