36 Squadron Horsley's.

Can anyone tell me the fate of a 36 Squadron Horsley III, the serial of which I believe was S1445? I know she had a nasty accident in the mid 1930’s at Singapore which I suspect saw her written off.

Thanks.

Kev,

I have only joined the forum after you posted this. I have been asked to help a close friend publish on the web photographs from the collection of his long deceased father which include Donibristle Horsley’s, and the 1934 Air Race at Singapore, Egypt Audaxes, and France 1940. It seems 100, 208 and 218 Squadrons may have been the units he served in up to the fall of France. There seems to be a remarkable correlation in the 1950’s service lives of these photographers/collectors. I too hope with my friend to publish this collection as a tribute to his father.

Couple of questions related to this:

Can anyone advise me how to trace Bill Ellsmoor, may have been dedicated aircrew or might just have got a lot of rides in Horsley’s. It now seens the photo’s I have date probably from March 1933 up to March 1936. Would anyone be able to trace him by the Air Force List if he was an Officer?

Final question would be has anyone got access to the 208 Squadron ORB for the period of 1935 and 1936?

As always, any help would be most appreciated.

No, Paul.

I have two!:D

A thread will appear in due course of a number of photographs of Horsley’s in Singapore, Demons in Egypt and the jewel in the crown will be a number of images of aircraft and personalities of the macRobertson Air Race in 1934.
Just gathering what information I can at the moment.

Thanks Ross for the confirmation.
