Harvard Down 22 July Goodwood. No Injury

That’s about all I know at the moment.

Sounds like the fan stopped and it put down safely in a nearby field.

I think there’s still another based not far away at Shoreham, and in a similar US Navy scheme, hence the clarification of ID.

Sorry to hear about this incident, I’m glad the damage is limited to the aeroplane.

Spared you a few blushes 🙂

There’s only one based there, iirc?

Eye witness report

The pilot came and did a low pass along the runway at about 50-100ft. He had the engine really screaming, and then as he went over the fence, the engine sputtered and then quit. Watched the Harvard pitch up, presumably to gain height in exchange for speed, and turn to a suitable field.

The pilot is ok, and the plane is in good enough shape to be fixed. As he walked back into the flying school, he was offered a cup of tea, but said he could do with a beer.
