Pros and Cons of Soda Blasting Aircraft

I watched a neat video of a guy soda blasting a DC-3 door. They also did an engine mount and the results were pretty good. I looked to see if there were any posts about soda blasting for restoration and didn’t see any on this forum.
What are the pros and cons? Is the aluminum left with streaks or any other damage?
What about painting over a good quality paint job versus stripping it to bare metal using the soda blasting method?

I’m getting prices of 10-30K to paint my Provost so before I commit to that kind of money, I’d like to get some expert advice from you chaps on this forum.
