Re-reading Air Pictorials for 1954, I came across a reader’s letter asking for info on the origins of a wing section which he had found on Beaulieu aerodrome. He removed a specification plate which, he writes, bore the ‘serial number’ IGASMP 482. He adds ‘I believe it to be a Mosquito’. Maybe he thought that MP482 was a Mossie serial but in fact it comes just after a batch of Mossies and was not allocated.
A bit late now, I know, but can anyone suggest what it might have come from?

I have a box of clippings from Aviation News and thought at one stage I could reverse engineer a handwritten data base. And then the author decided to publish it in a book HGW, but i still have those clippings and think they should fetch a lot on ebay if TIGHAR bid.

You really must catch up with your reading, AT. Your mother must be alarmed at the size of the piles of unread magazines in your bedroom if you’re still on 1954. When on earth do you think that you’re going to catch up on the next 57 years’ issues? Well, alright then 48 years of AP and then 9 years of Aviation News.
