Just a heads up for Sunday
The Vintage Aircraft Club & LAA
30 years ago Leicester hosted the biggest flying event in Europe, the PFA rally 1981.
We want to recall those times with a fly in of plans-built homebuilt aircraft.
LANDING FEES FOR FLY IN VISITORS — £6.00
Should hopefully be a good day.

Hi Jenna,
There is a little bit of info on the Leicester Aero Club site and some info on the VAC site (www.vintageaircraftclub.org.uk)
I would love to let you know but sadly I’m stuck at work this weekend so cannot make it – mildly fuming to say the least!
If you want any help with your event let me know and I can get it published in the VAC area – could be good as we have a former owner of G-ASML – Low ‘n’ Slow on here and the current owner/restorer of G-AFIR as a member too.
A Ord-Hume gave us a talk a few years back at our annual dinner – really good talk it was too.

Arm Waver is there a link or web page with all the information on or is it a case of hunting the net for it?
You’ll have to let me know how it goes, plans are still bubbling away to bring back the ‘Barton In The Clay’ airfield (birth place of the Luton Minor) as a one off special fly in in the near future.

So what about the Luton Minor? Is that not a vintage type? It is pre-war design and was the start of homebuilt flying post war….
The desire is to get some of the “classic” designs then together but all welcome.
That’s just a minor deviation from the theme! 😉

I never put ‘vintage’ and ‘homebuilt’ in the same sentence, so will this just be for homebuilts, as I never regard any of these as ‘vintage’?

Always depends on the airfield operators. This is outside our control.

What about the long-standing tradition that fly-ins levy no landing fees ?
